Now the choice is also, second layer in front or behind the drivers. Hmm

Both? Recess the woofer into the front one, and you'll have 1.5" baffle thickness behind it. And LOTS of bolts. lol

Infinite baffle FTW! Looks good so far sir.
This is gonna get good, I think! Go for it, Babs!
So newb mistake I'll never make again... Never underestimate the routers ability to jump on you.. Hold onto that sucker. I think it's salvageable but sure hurt my dang ego. So, trudging onward. That's how I left it last night. Shut down the shop and got a 12-pack or Sierra Navada's. Mad, was an understatement.

Oh please that's nothing. Some wood putty or some bondo filler and that'll be invisible.
When you carpet that baffle you'd never know it's there unless you told someone.

Well worst part is it kinda boogered up the hole a little also. Once I fit a sub in I'll know the extent.. It's probably fine. But it sure taught homey here a lesson in router respect. Could have been uuuuuugly had I not been able to keep it pointed away and shut down quickly. Nice part of the porter cable is the switch makes the button pop up on the butt end of the motor so you can slap it to shut down.
And what makes me so mad.. Look how perfect the hole on the right is. Peeeerrrrrfect!!! $&@#%!

Still a fine job Babs. We all need a little reminder about power tools sometimes. I've been distracted over my table saw before, and you normally don't get a second chance with that. Fix your mistake and keep plugging away. I'm sure you will have what you want in the end!
Totally salvagable man! No problem at all. You got this. Keep on keepin' on. Wood putty, or even wood glue mixed with MDF powder. I call it, magic dust. Stir, sprinkle, spread it, and forget it! Oh, until sanding time.
Are you not entertained?!?!
