I would expect the longevity to be way better on the led bulbs- so cost in the end could be cheaper

T5's will sit your ass down though... At some point you may wish you had a larger breaker box...

LED is significantly brighter, plus directional. We make a 48,000 lumen fixture that's 45.5" long and just under 12" wide, that will sit your ass down.

I picked up 2 of those last year as well, made a hell of a difference in the garage. I picked up some of these: http://www.lowes.com/pd/Project-Sour...dapter/3774299

Then just removed the bulbs and plugged the LED shoplights in. Previously had 3 incandescent bulbs in there, with the 2 LED lights the whole garage is lit up so much more evenly.

Maybe when these fluorescent bulbs burn out, I'll look at LEDs, but for now, they give plenty of output. Right now I just need to focus on finishing the interior walls so I can start putting stuff up.

People have been asking just how much light these things put out, so I think this pic speaks for itself

    Al,
What's that little header'd opening on the back wall opposite the garage door?

We framed in a couple of 'windows' just for an air conditioner or two.
