My bad. I was talking about makita's white impact. Didnt look at the picture closely enough.
I have the Makita drill/impact driver combo and I'm really impressed...aside from the battery issues that they have
See, that's why I love my m12. I haven't had a single battery issue. I've been running it going on 3 years and I'm still on the original two batteries it came with. Plus they charge in like 20-25 min.
I've had those about 5 years. Bought the blue one, and 2 months later had a fire. It got the charger and 1 battery. Bought the white one for batteries and charger. I had 1 battery brick about 3 years ago. Since then, I keep em charged and had no issues.
I find that with li-ion extreme temperatures can wreak havoc on the batteries. Especially the cold.
The makita batts have a circuit that monitors for low charge. If it gets too low 3 times, it bricks the battery. The problem comes from the circuit using power in an idle condition. If you store it low on power, it will trip one of your 3 times
Yeah. That's the only problem I have with them. The older Makita impacts will outlast the pyramids.
I've never had a problem with my Bosch batteries. Heck, I even have an Ixo (3.6v lithium) that I charge/use once every 6 months or so and it still rocks on.
Makita are nice tools too, although more expensive over here.

Great for light duty/precise work
