Re: Sound competition
Would I be doing myself an injustice by purchasing it off iTunes?

Re: Sound competition
I would have to say yes, I think making the CD into anMP3 would lose some of it's SQ. That's normally a big deal but in this case you might lose some of it.

Re: Sound competition
I agree with Paul, this is a reference disk, don't short sell yourself with this one.

Re: Sound competition
I thought iTunes lossless/lossy? format had an indiscernible degradation?

Re: Sound competition
If you mean track descriptions that explain the fidelity characteristics exemplified in each track then, yes.

Re: Sound competition
Always get the disc off iTunes (or wherever). Then rip to whatever you want when the copy is in your hand. Especially reference material.
I've only been to and competed at the one show. The only thing holding me back is time. I have so much work to get done my install and then just need to be available to go. Once I have an install done, I "tweak" it over time so complete rebuilds aren't necessarily something I'd be taking on if I start with a good base.
The G2G's sound like alot of fun.
