    2000 mustang charity build

Doing a small build for the neighbors kids 2000 mustang (V6) daily driver. He is a college kid and has little money. He came to me and asked what he could do to improve the overall sound (original factory speakers powered by an aftermarket HU). I asked for his budget and decided to help him piece together a budget system that will yield better results than he was asking for. The sub will be mounted IB under the rear deck on the right side of the trunk with the amp mounted downside to the left.

    HU: JVC KD-X80BT (customer installed)
Tweeters: unknown metal inverted domes (Donated)
Mids: Dayton DC130BS-4 Classic 5 1/4" shielded woofer (donated)
Passive crossovers: Pioneer pro crossovers (donated my DEJO)
Subwoofer: RoadMaster MSW150 15" Poly Cone Subwoofer (customer purchased from partsexpress)
Amp: PPI BA 1600.4 (customer purchased)

    Out with the old...

In with the new. Made adapters out of 1/2" MDF coated with rubber sealant. no fitment issues with the window or the door panel.

Crossovers were mounted to a 1/4" piece of MDF as a backer with the stock door plastic in the middle. The MDF was also treated with rubber sealant for weather protection. Also no fitment issues with the stock door panel.

much more to come. This is just the progress so far.

The main positive battery cable was corroded solid to the battery post. Had to go at it with an angle grinder to free it loose and replace it.

roughing in the tweeter pods with some bondo hair. Going to finish it up with some rage gold and spray truck bed lining

Mustang install is completed. It didnt happen if there arent pictures to prove it so here we go. BTW, that $18 sub is amazing for IB.

Since the amp is mounting upside down, I cut vent holes that match up with the perforations in the metal on the bottom of the amp
