Building a gift for my wife that involves my 2 girls. Ripped down a board of cedar in to 1.75" strips. Did a little bit of creative routing to come up with this "picture" frame. There is a rabbit on the back side for a sheet of 1/4" mdf. going to fill it with cement and put the kids hand prints in it. The cedar will be stained black. This is the best idea I could come up with on the limited time line and using the scraps of lumber in the garage.

I helped a friend and built this for him to give his wife. He had the idea and plans but no tools. He painted it black.

that is a funky looking knick knack shelf. Good job helping out a friend. is that just MDF, or did you use real lumber?

Lumber, some 1" aspen boards. Could have been stained but they wanted black.

Wifey had a dr appointment so I put the kids to work. mixed and poured the cement and had the girls put their hands in. Got some purplish pink broken shells to fill the blank space.
