    Re: 2014/2015 weather

    Not looking good

Following a period of active weather and bitter cold for much of the U.S. this past week, relatively tranquil weather can be expected this weekend. Precipitation will increase across the Gulf Coast and Deep South by Monday. Conditions will become increasingly unsettled across the south central
U.S. early this week as an upper trough swings through northern Mexico and
lifts into the southern Plains. Low level southerly flow ahead of the
trough will draw up an abundance of Gulf moisture...which will fuel a wide
axis of heavy rains along the western Gulf coast and across eastern Texas.

Flash flooding and a few thunderstorms will be possible across the
region...and as the upper trough edges eastward Monday and
Tuesday...precipitation will spread into the Lower Mississippi and
    Tennessee Valleys.

Cooler weather continues for central, eastern U.S., unsettled weather in Deep South

Cooler weather is expected to continue on Wednesday for the central and eastern U.S. as a cold front makes its way south and east across the country. Meanwhile, heavy rain and thunderstorms are possible for parts of Texas and the Deep South, with some storms possibly becoming severe in the lower Mississippi River Valley Wednesday afternoon.

    Happy World Meteorological Day!

This year's theme is "Climate knowledge for climate action" highlighting both recent advances in climate science and the need for decisive measures to limit climate change.

Yep, that was in Sand Springs which is the far west side of Tulsa. I'm on the SE side and that particular storm went just north of us.

There was a small one that hit in Moore as well, right in the same area as the big one a couple years ago but I don't think anyone was hurt in that one.

How big? I saw video and it looked pretty damn impressive for this early. Folded a couple radio towers over too.

The Sand Springs was borderline F2 if I recall. The folded tower was in Moore and I didn't hear how strong it was. The shop Owens works at is right by there, maybe he'll chime in.

The area at greatest risk are from northern Texas and southern Oklahoma across Arkansas and into northern Mississippi and central Alabama.
