350Z – Simple Custom Box - CarAudioFabrication
I recently had a friend contact me looking for a subwoofer box for his Nissan 350Z. He was just looking for something simple that would fit in the back, but after seeing the awesome Lemans Orange his car was painted I knew I had to somehow add a simple touch of paint to the box. I talked him into doing a little bit more of a custom touch, while still keeping things simple.
Since I wanted the box to somewhat match the look of the vehicle I sought to integrate some of the interior design features. The “Z” logo within the trunk of the vehicle is the first thing that caught my eye. Replicated this with some embossed vinyl. Since everything in the interior is pretty curvy I also used a roundover router bit on edges of the sub box to give it a more curvy look. Finally I also added some “divots” that are similar in nature to those found in the OEM interior on the door handles, door sill, and the bridge between the wheel wells.
In these two videos I walk through the build step by step.

Man, I love these videos! It's interesting to see the techniques you use, it shows that what has long been considered pro level finishing touches are attainable with the correct tools and some practice!

Nice mark! Thanks for sharing. Can you elaborate some on the DAP glue in a can you found? What is it and where did you purchase it?

All the materials are here:http://www.caraudiofabrication.com/#...er-baffle/ceqr
Its NOT going to ever compare to the good stuff, but in talking with them it is their high strength formula that is supposed to be the best out of a rattle can. I wouldn't expect to wrap door panels with it, but flat surfaces it works great.

Search Tesa Tape or Jeremy Katz on facebook. (Same guy) He can help you out. There isn't really a good "Online Store" source.
