First REW Measurements - PIC Heavy
It took a while, but I finally found some free time to start using REW and the UMI-1 (No Calibration file). After searching around i found Andy's write up on setting up REW to use his UMI-1 and after some playing i got it mostly calibrated, with the exception of adding a MIC CAL File...Here are my raw first run results of my front 3-Way

I haven't started tuning yet as i think i still need to adjust my XOvers on the speakers. I used the 1.4 x Fs as a starting point but i might have to adjust???
What do you guys think?

What do you think of the two XOver settings using Drivers Side as an Example
Mids Band Passed @ 500 - 5600 L/R 24db vs No XOver

Re: First REW Measurements - PIC Heavy
You should really mention what speakers they are as a mid wouldn’t normally play upto 5.6k
and your mids also look like they are playing down to 100hz easily... I’d cross them at 200hz and see what that looked like... but again it depends on what mids they are...
your guide of 1.4xfs is not even a thing... no one who knows anything would ever say that sorry... does that mean your tweeters fs is over 3k?
also if posting graphs make them all have the same scale, at most 5db per division, the last ones you posted are 10db
and change the left scale to db not db fs so we get an idea of where your levels are at somewhat
do the above and then repost if you would, as it is your crossovers could well be very wrong for your speakers you have

Thanks for the feedback and as per your suggestions, i have updated my original post and included what speakers i am running and have adjusted my graphs to all be the same level and displaying 5 db SPL increments and also used 1/3 Smoothing as i notice most people dont use the Bar...

I set the tweeters XOver at 5.6k based on a conversation with a guy named Sage at Orca during a warranty call about the passenger side 6.5 (it has a vibration). I originally had planned to XOver the tweeter at 3.2kHz as a starting point but he stated that these tweeters perform best @ 5.6k and up and that the mid i am using should do just fine going up that far.

I totally get that my practice of XOver @ 1.4 x Fs for speakers & 2 x Fs for tweeters is a total oversimplification :), that's why i am posting these questions up and i thank you for calling me on it LOL
Re: First REW Measurements - PIC Heavy
What speakers are they? As you still haven’t answered that? And how are they fitted? 3 way, midbass in bottom of the door, mid in door or a pillars? Tweeter in sails, a pillars, on axis, off axis, all these are questions that need answering to start to solve a very complex equation, I didn’t mean to sound harsh yesterday, I was at work and wanted to squeeze as many points in as I could

Mid Bass (Focal K2 POWERES 165 K2) & Tweeter (Focal K2 Power TKM) are mounted in the Doors
Attachment 12107
And the Mids (Focal 165 AS3) are in the factory location on the dash

This was a fun first attempt and getting more familiar with all of these toys/tools. I totally missed the mark that i was aiming at but damn is this a fun process.
Overall the placebo effect is fun too... It really doesnt sound bad and my imaging is pretty decent. Now time to take lessons from these mistakes, combine that with any input advice you all have and shoot for a second attempt in a few days
***Sorry about all the extra attachments, i havent figured out how to get rid of those down below :(
Re: First REW Measurements - PIC Heavy
Yeah - now prepare to waste a LOT of time over the next few weeks (and possibly much longer depending on how far you go with this)! It is kind of fun though - and you get to learn so much. I never realized that there was so much involved in car audio. DSP's really open up a whole new world of "tunability" - and you get to understand how things work in so much more detail. Very cool stuff.
Re: First REW Measurements - PIC Heavy
Once it cools down (read December) we can have a tuning and hangout session at someones house. Justin and I did that with Chris and it was fun!
