The DIYMA test, Introduce yourself if you came from DIYMA. Let’s take a count
Ok, I see a lot of familiar names already and lots of DIYMA posts but I want to take a count of how many actually are here now so if you don’t mind and you came from DIYMA than introduce yourself. I’m hoping this also helps others looking on here trying to decide if they want to make the switch to see who is already a member here. It would be nice to get a count of how many DIYMA members have made the switch. Hoping this turns into a 200+ count thread all with DIYMA members and CAS welcomes.
I’ve been a member of DIYMA since early 2014 and was formally named V8toilet there. Making the switch because everyone else is and I like this crowd. Seems like this place might be a nice place to migrate to.

Re: The DIYMA test, Introduce yourself if you came from DIYMA. Let’s take a count
I came over here in 2013 (I think). I've known Al for a while and someone said this is where all the cool kids were hanging out. Actually, I think Al's first forum was called "Forum Refugee". Been on diyma since Jan of 07 back when it was owned by NPDang. Migrated to diyma from sounddomain because it was imploding like diyma is now.

Almost everyone here came from DIYMA. There's a member list under the community tab at the top of the page.

My last on purpose login to diyma was December of 2010 (phone logged me on once after that)

Another DIYMA transplant here.... I'm relatively new to car audio and was just starting to get comfortable over on DIYMA when the shit hit the fan about the forum software switch.
I have a lot to learn and found folks on DIYMA very helpful - hopefully, this place ends up even better than DIYMA.
Just got a new Helix DSP.3 in the mail today (upgrading from Rockford Fosgate DSR-1), so I'm gonna need you guys along the way! :-)

Re: The DIYMA test, Introduce yourself if you came from DIYMA. Let’s take a count
I am also a migrant from DIYMA, I was 04quadcab there. I have updated my user name to reflect a recent change in my life. I have been "tinkering" with DIY audio (home an car) since 2015 and decided to start journaling my adventures with a YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/diyaudioguy
In my videos I call myself "THE" DIY Audio Guy. But that is not quite right. I am just "A" DIY Audio Guy. You are also a DIY Audio Guy or Gal you are welcome to join my adventure. I am not trying to make any money on the channel, just having fun sharing my hobby. I would appreciate it if you subscribed.

Yep, former DIYMA user here.
:out:
I have been here on CAJ forum for a Whopping..... 24 hours now
jtrosky, I also have a Helix and love it, basically if you get the basics right, it will make a huge impact. Get your XO settings, gains, levels and tape measure TA set, and see how that sounds. Once you get good at that, work on EQ and the rest. I know there are tons of posts here on exactly how to do that, just saying. Good luck.

I joined both at the same time a couple years ago. I’ve always liked the shout box here for instant question answering when I’m stuck on a problem, posting pics is WAY easier, less bullshit, judgement, and drama.
I do go to DIYMA if I’m trying to sell something in a hurry. The classifieds have a lot more eyes. Facebook is turning into a decent place to move things as well.
This is an awesome place to chill, and spend your downtime talking with cool cats, and throwing ideas around.

Re: The DIYMA test, Introduce yourself if you came from DIYMA. Let’s take a count
Hi all,
Joined CAJ a little over a year ago (June 2018), when DIYMA was going through yet another one of it's fuck-ups.
Same user name that I have had since the Term-Pro and CarSound forum days... always been more of a reader/lurker than poster, but hopefully will be able to contribute a build log eventually despite my sloth like progress . LOL!
Cheers!
Charles

You beat me to it, I'd imagine 99% of members came from DIYMA. Signed up here after meeting Al at a meet a few years ago, he bribed me with some CAJ shirts :)

Okay, I'll jump in too, mainly because Al has basically the same truck as me and I'm curious to see what he does with his.

Unfortunately this site is blocked where I work but I'll try to be more active in the evenings. Need to update my build log too.
Oh yeah, the emoji selection here is much more entertaining too

Hi All,
I made the jump too. Been on DIYMA for quite some time, just never participated much. Maybe I need to change that here.

Hey man. Remember I PM'd you on DIYMA a while back about seeing you mention Bart's Jeep? We still need to hook up one day. I still haven't talked to Bart since we exchanged messages. Which is lazy on my part since it's not like he's hard to track down.
Anyway, welcome I guess. I just started hanging out here myself even though I registered over a year ago.

I'm here from DIYMA as well. Just trying to make sure anyone using Brax, Helix, Match, or BLAM products is having a good experience. I'll still float around over there until it is shriveled up and dead.

I bought Erin's Helix DSP Pro, having it installed next week by Steve Cook

Re: The DIYMA test, Introduce yourself if you came from DIYMA. Let’s take a count
I joined here a while ago but haven’t been here much. I joined DYMA back in 2007. I joined then because of what DYMA was based on. There’s still a lot of very knowledgeable people there but I see the writing on the wall. Since so many of those people are coming here I figured I better get to know the place. I don’t post a lot unless I think I can add value to the thread or to ask advice but I’ve learned a lot and I’m grateful to all those that share their knowledge with us.

Re: The DIYMA test, Introduce yourself if you came from DIYMA. Let’s take a count
Does it count if I created and account over there to peruse threads about coming over here? Either way, I'm here.
