Pre or Post Time Alignment?
Got a n00b question regarding measurements via REW. Should raw speaker RTA measurements be taken post or pre 'Time/Distance' settings? I am using both the Time Align mixed with a little cut in channel gain to do level matching but wondering if this common practice or if i should set all 'Time/Distance' at Zero and then start the level matching via gain cutting.
Thanks in advance
Re: Pre or Post Time Alignment?
Time alignment is important once you start measuring speakers together. Less important when measuring individual drivers.
With that said, I would set it at the beginning before proceeding with level matching and tuning. Wouldn’t want to forget to do TA and then you get excited and start measuring speakers together... might as well do it early and move on.

Re: Pre or Post Time Alignment?
Time alignment only matters if you are playing more than one channel at a time.
If you are doing your level matching or RTA'ing one speaker at a time, then time alignment won't make any difference.
