Starting a long slow build
It's been more years than I care to think about since I have had a high end audio system in a vehicle. I decided it is time to get back in the game. I will be building a truck from the ground up......fully custom. Nothing will be stock except the exterior body sheet metal. This will be a daily driver service/work truck. I have some of the gear already and some will have to be decided once things like the air conditioner and motor locations have been decided. Here is the gear so far:
deck: pioneer DMH-C5500NEX (I wanted to have carplay for work and this deck can have the screen and chassis located in different places).
tweeters: scanspeak d2004/602000
mids: B&W 5" kevlar
midbass: undecided
subs: undecided
processor: likely helix
amps: alpine v12...two MRD-M1000 for subs, two MRV-F540 for mids and midbass and one MRV-T420 for tweeters.
I'm always open for suggestions. Looking for sound quality as first priority.

I like the symmetry of the 2 sub amps about equal in length to the 3 front stage amps.
I think two SI SQL-12 @ 2 ohm 1000w each on those amps would be awesome. Or if you have the box room, SQL-15s

Possibly considering a couple 15” or 18” or maybe one dvc stereo integrity 24” true ib in the firewall….if the motor winds up behind the cab.

This is the starting point.

That's a nice work truck. What business are you in?

Love the truck - but that's a small cab to fit all that gear in!
What's the plan for that?

The truck is bigger than it seams. It was the semi truck in the 30s and 40s. Here are a couple of pics for size reference. One is my truck being delivered along with a Camaro (not mine). My truck looks like it could drive through that camaro. Also makes the heavy duty truck pulling the trailer look small.

This is truly a blank slate. If the motor can be relocated behind the cab then the floor and firewall can be completely flat. The doghouse will go away and the dash will go away as well. I can fit the tweeter, midrange and mid bass in the corners forward of the a pillars at the firewall. Thinking about the a/c unit in a center console leaving the firewall open for subwoofers. The only thing behind the grill is the radiator so I can have either sub enclosure or true ib between the firewall and radiator.
