Helix DSP RTA ATF Reference curve
Hi Guys, I was just wondering what your thoughts on the inbuilt curve of the helix dsp was, it seems to not get flat unit about 1.6 Khz and in the Helix magazine says this is industry standard yet most of the alternate house curves I have seen flatten off much earlier.
Also for any one else using the dsp, does the umik-1 mic calibration file work out of the box, I can select it fine so I am assuming so.

Not sure what you mean by umik 1 calibration out of the box. But that curve looks like a more general ~1db/octave roll off. It is one I would maybe use for a home system with air attenuation of the tweeter, but not one for a car.
This is the one I use and really like it.

That's the great thing about standards, there are so many to choose from!

I adjusted my JBL Curve to have that same dip around 2.5-3k. It’s awful.
Re: Helix DSP RTA ATF Reference curve
It's awful before, or it awful after?
Asking for a friend.
Re: Helix DSP RTA ATF Reference curve
Thats funny stuff right there
Re: Helix DSP RTA ATF Reference curve
With regards to the uik calibration file, what I meant was is the file as downloaded from minidsp compatible with the helix software?
Funily enough I have that dip at 3k without trying, well until I point the tweeters at my head.
Many thanks
Re: Helix DSP RTA ATF Reference curve
Audiotec fischer when talking about the new dsp 5 tool explained the reason for not going flat in their custom atf house curve until higher up in the freq range was down to the road noise in most cars destroying the sound in those areas.
The auto parametric eq looks good. HELIX | CAR AUDIO | SHOWCASE video on you tube.
