Central/North AL Fall GTG Saturday, Nov. 9
BigAl's Fourth Annual Big Birthday Bash!
I'm also going to dub this the first meet of the Southeastern Quality Sound Invitational...or SEQSI for short https://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum...ilies/wink.gif
I would like to invite everyone over to listen to some cool audio systems, hang out and cut up with your friends, and help me celebrate my Birthday (actually the 12th). We will probably also have a pre-meet and tuning session the night before.
The place: My house in Hayden, AL (about 25 miles north of Birmingham)
The date: Saturday, November 9
The time: 9AM to 9PM
Optional things to bring:
- your favorite demo music
- a folding chair
- a camera
- Tools and tuning equipment
- a friend
- a canopy
I hope to see you there!

Getting closer! Hopefully there's enough people committed when the time comes for this to fully fabricate. I WILL make this one providing nothing tragic happens.

Re: Central/North AL Fall GTG Saturday, Nov. 9
I’ll do my best and make an honest attempt to be there! I eat, sleep, and breath car audio; so I enjoy nothing more than hanging out with like minded folks.

Re: Central/North AL Fall GTG Saturday, Nov. 9
We have several solid people that say they'll attend. Just not many on the list. I think this will have a decent turnout. Hopefully the weather will be perfect with mild temps and bluebird sky.

Re: Central/North AL Fall GTG Saturday, Nov. 9
If only the current job/project was over by then. I'd finally have my trailblazer done too!
-
Re: Central/North AL Fall GTG Saturday, Nov. 9
Don't let that stop you. Al hasn't had a working system at the last 3 or 4 of his own meets!

The job I'm currently working on (in Texas) won't be over until the end of November or later, otherwise I would!

Re: Central/North AL Fall GTG Saturday, Nov. 9
Sadly, I won't be able to make it. I used the last of my vacation time for Finals (and a couple of days for this year coming up) and Got called for Jury Duty on the 19th. Sigh. So I need to work enough to stash some cash to cover the huge loss I'm going to have for Jury Duty.

Re: Central/North AL Fall GTG Saturday, Nov. 9
Sorry, Jay...I didn't know you were considering making the trek. We'll catch up another time.

Re: Central/North AL Fall GTG Saturday, Nov. 9
Me and jrwalte are meeting up for dinner Friday night before the meet if anyone else wants to join.

Re: Central/North AL Fall GTG Saturday, Nov. 9
I'll be able to make it to this years GTG, excited to see the truck!!
What time do festivities normally begin?

You self employed or work for a business? Maybe your state law is different, but in GA a business has to pay you your regular salary for Jury Duty time (not from your PTO). If your state doesn't, you could always file a hard ship claiming loss wages and probably get out of it.

Re: Central/North AL Fall GTG Saturday, Nov. 9
Hey some people I met absolutely will not skip jury duty and we'll have to respect that (a citizen's duty). We get a trial by jury or at least an iffy judge. In other countries they get trial by media or no trial at all lol (sad).

Good time and a good turnout. Al may or may not have been spanked but I'm not telling.

I had a great time Al, appreciate your hospitality (and your directions to avoid the B'ham construction!). I didn't get as many demos as I should have, maybe next time!

Re: Central/North AL Fall GTG Saturday, Nov. 9
Thanks for hosting another great meet Al. You're quite the gracious host and would call you a friend too. There really was a good pool of collective knowledge and that's what I feel makes these meets so great. People got helped that needed help. Erin gave me some great pointers as always and totally appreciative. There's a lot of things my ears don't pick up on and need to get a tone generator app if my special needs smart phone will support it (not paying for the level of smart phone the cool kids are running). For anyone wondering that 18" Ultimax Al has played clean and deep. And the front end isn't far from really being great too. I wouldn't be against doing a back seat delete in a truck to run something like that;)Back seat in a regular quadcab/extended cab just gets in the way most of the time anyway. Erin's car sounded as good as it looked. Scott's Lexus was awesome and had a tune that you could just chill out to. Papa's car still sounds good after all these years and Justjason's car is AMAZING. And Justin's Corolla isn't far from busting out into something great.

Your drone video is better than mine, I still struggle to get smooth video. Admittedly, I spend more time taking still photos and never really practice video.

You can't see if from that angle, but there's a trampoline in the neighbor's front yard, and...
