Static crackling help
So to begin ill give a break down of my stereo as it sits right now
Pioneer hu
Rf t1 components in front doors
Kenwood 5x7 in rear doors.
So my issue im having right now is im getting crackling and static like sound at higher volume. And when I turn my ignition on my rear left speaker pops. I believe im hearing more of the static crackling noise out of my tweeter more then the mid. I dont think their blown because I just took the components out of my old car and put them in my truck now this. And a little back story I had rf 2 ways in the front doors and this last week they started sounding snappy like crackling at volume between 38 and 62 on my deck. So I thought they were blown thats why I replaced them with the components and now all 4 speakers sound like this.
Can anybody please help.

Re: Static crackling help
So speakers are powered off head unit? If so, and the sound is coming from your old speakers and the new, I'd say the problem is coming from the head unit. Do you have access to another to swap in for a check?

Re: Static crackling help
I would have to take the deck out of my girls car. She has a pioneer too. The deck powers the speakers.

Re: Static crackling help
So different head.....same result....multiple speakers....same result.....Sounds like it's got to be a wiring issue my friend......

Re: Static crackling help
Samr head. Just put the orginal speaker in and it sounds like a fly flapping its wings like crackle when I raise the volume past 35. I have a set of kenwood 5x7 im going to try and of its not that im going to see if sonic electronic will send me out a new headunit. I just bought the 5600hd a few months ago.

Re: Static crackling help
It may be a long shot, but I had an intermittent problem before and it turned out that one of the wiring connectors had a stray strand sticking out and was either touching metal or the other terminal, I don't recall. Have you tried swapping channels behind the headunit? If the symptoms start showing up on another speaker, you will know it's the headunit.

Re: Static crackling help
To me it sounds like the front 2 speakers.

Re: Static crackling help
Then try swapping front and rear

Re: Static crackling help
I was thinking about trying that. But out of the left rear speaker when the radio turns on and off it makes this weird noise

Re: Static crackling help
What more do you need? You've been given the three possibilities, hu, speakers or wiring and you've already eliminated the speakers as a problem so that leaves hu or wiring. Try what's already been suggested and go from there.

Re: Static crackling help
I guess what I was aking in that video is what is that pop nosie. im going to try the hu switching out but with minr and my girls work schedules we are never home at the same time. And if that doesnt w0rk then im just going to run new speaker wire.

Re: Static crackling help
Watch "Problem?" on YouTube
Problem?: http://youtu.be/j_Wu0NC6N_o
This happened tonight on my drive home. All my hu connections looked good and I tried swapping out the hu with no luck

Re: Static crackling help
So little update. First I tried the a new ground wire still didn't fix it then I ended up taking my girls pioneer hu out and that fixed the pop noise on key on and key off. I think its the speakers causong the static like noise but first im going to replace all the speaker wire.
But heres my next question has anybody on here delt with sonic electronic warrenty department because they wont tell me how long it will take to fix my hu. And they want me to pay all the shipping and pay for a box from ups.

Re: Static crackling help
How long have you had the radio? I've dealt with Sonic numerous times on sales, but never had a warranty return. They'll probably just turn around and send it somewhere else to get serviced and that's why they can't give you a time frame, because they don't know.

Re: Static crackling help
Tired calling 4 times today and cant get thru to them and the online support will not respond to me for the last 3 days. Never dealing with sonic electronic again. Looks like im going to be sol on a headunit. Waste of $100

Re: Static crackling help
Sorry to hear that. The only drawback to getting stuff cheap is that they are official reps on some brands, giving a full manufacturer's warranty...where on other stuff Sonic gets it cheap, but assumes the warranty responsibility (sonic warranty). Good luck with it.

Re: Static crackling help
They gave me a 1 year warrenty but are not helping me much.

Re: Static crackling help
Okay, so back to the pico fuse. Did I go out and buy a resistor? No. Did I buy a precision soldering iron to fit a new fuse in the tiny workspace? No.
So how did I solve the problem? Simple. I dropped a big bead of solder on top of the fuse that connected both leads. Voila! Dead quiet again. It was a PITA trying to get the solder to sit on top of the fuse, but with enough tries, it worked. It's an ugly ass repair that's for damn sure, but it's fixed.
... Then I just said F! it and dropped a big ol' solder bead on top of the fuse itself. It's a tiny little fuse. It didn't take much solder. It's only about 1mm across.
