She's gonna be bad man, real bad. Did a compression test last night and everything was within 5% and plenty of oil pressure.

Re: 1996 Dodge Dakota complete restore, rebuild and audio
So, I ran into a couple snags. First off, the etching primer I used didn't etch at all. The entire paint job I did on the frame flaked off completely with just some power washing. Needless to say, I went another route and used some rust reformer along with a silver hammered finish. I chose silver since it has more of the clear solids in it, so it should be tougher.

Front suspension is almost completely back together, did the rack and pinion after this and will be doing the rotors/brakes/sway bar this evening. Moar pics tomorrow!

The stuff from SEM worked much better.
There was a guy on LS1tech who did a 2gn Dakota (and a Durango, as well IIRC) and he said it pretty much went in like it was supposed to be there and was far easier than swapping an S10.
Nice work so far!
I'd stay away from the Sonic Barrier MX4. After I initially installed some I was happy with it....but later I went in to add some Resonix and found that the butyl layer had melted and spread, and no longer did a good job deadening. It would ring when I tapped on it, which it didn't do after I originally installed it. And I don't even live in Texas.

Completely forgot about the SEM stuff. I did end up using a Rust Reformer primer and that stuff flat out worked!!
What a bummer on the Sonic Barrier, already bought it a year ago LOL. Guess I'll hope and pray after installing it.
This swap was the easy part, the painting and other junk is a PITA LOL

My dad fixed up a 95 for me as my first car when i moved out. It's a year older than i am and it's still running fairly well. i don't ever want to let it go. Partly cause it's from my dad, and partly cause i love my Dakota :)
