And Michael Savage? Really? That's what you call an acceptable source of information?
I'll see that and raise you a NASA
Who/what would I blame it on? I dunno - haven't given it that much thought. I also find it to be an odd and pointless question. It's sort of like blaming someone for lightning.
Fun fact: Savage's real name is Michael Alan Weiner
Yep, don't blame him for an alias lol. And Savage/weiner is a smart dude. He spits facts and is entertaining for sure but I was mostly referring to the thousands of scientists rebutting that humans are causing massive climate change. Specifically, the "father of scientific climatology" among others that argue against it.
That was the easiest question of all. Answer: China. Somehow I knew you wouldn't answer

Next he suggests closing nursing homes while all this infection is going on. However he does not explain where this population of 1.5 million will go to isolate while this is going down or who will take care of them. Incorrect, he said to lock them down to protect them from the virus.
I think what he's suggesting here, and he may actually say it...probably not going to finish this, is just let the weak die off and we'll be on the other side of this. Not only that, but after 2 weeks, the virus is gone. Incorrect assumption. He basically says you can’t do anything about it and it’s gonna happen whether it takes four weeks naturally or years with human social distancing. He’s trying to say that the social distancing will not work for saving people in the long run.
Good news though - he's pretty sure China isn't hiding anything incorrect, he never said that.
He also predicted a total of 10,000 deaths 7 days ago. Today it's over 18,000 see below
That's enough for me.
Too bad you didn’t finish it, got to keep an open mind. He goes on to explain how the Coronavirus is related to all other Coronaviruses and how all respiratory viruses are alike and this one is nothing new except for how most of the world is treating it. He explains his theory on why the world population treated this virus different because of the internet and how fast news spreads now because of it compared to the old school paper/press methods of yesterday. He goes into depth and explains the concept of herd immunity and why it’s natures defense against viruses and why we shouldn’t mess with mother nature’s ways but in a scientific way and gives examples with data to back it up. He explains how people who are older and have respiratory and autoimmune problems actually die from pneumonia and not from the virus itself but if they get early intervention that they have a better chance of surviving. He explains how the Coronavirus and other viruses like influenza attack the bodies cells, the immune system attacks and kills the infected cells in response, and bacteria thrive on all those dead cells causing pneumonia, something I hadn't or would have thought of. He also explains how we are actually causing more deaths and especially elderly people deaths because of the way we are handling this and not letting herd immunity take its place naturally. He explains how the second wave would not happen if we had herd immunity and that flattening the curve also means extending this virus is stay in our society and we cannot avoid that.
If you look at the data he presents that he gets from the European CDC, it supports his claims and he explains why that is. Look at Sweden where they haven’t followed everyone else’s lead and locked their country down and they are doing just fine. I now have family members who have contracted COVID-19 and happen to be in their 40s like me and they didn’t even know they had it for a while. All have very mild to no symptoms and are doing jus fine, which is in line with what this guy says. I also have a 71-year-old member with COPD and diabetes who is now recovering, although she almost didn’t.
Also be careful about that total death count being reported all over the news. Dr. Burke’s even admitted they are counting all deaths that test positive with COVID-19 as deaths. For example, if you get in a car accident and died from that car accident and tested positive for COVID-19 then it is counted as a COVID-19 death. If you die from a heart attack but tested positive for COVID-19 then it is counted as a COVID-19 death.
He doesn’t say China isn’t hiding anything but he does say that it would be very difficult for them to hide the fact that they would still be having massive deaths if they were. Their country now has herd immunity so their deaths have gone way down. This is the same for Italy and Spain now. Their deaths are now on the decline because they have built up herd immunity. He explains how testing for COVID-19 is useless and why but he admits that testing for antibodies would be useful.
Anyone can find flaws in any of this information depending on what they believe in and what they know. I’m certainly not going to tell you what you should believe in but that you should just keep an open mind and be very careful about what the mainstream media tells you.

So, no comment on NASA's assessment and projections?

I've read NASA and many others. Bottom line is earth's climate has been changing for millions/billions of years. Much hotter, much higher Co2 levels thousands/millions of years ago. Humans are not destroying the earth.

On this I would agree. The Earth will survive us.
Humans are destroying human habitats and resources tho
Re: Coronavirus fears hammer markets - how far will it go?
Back on topic though - how 'bout them bailouts? Trump-sized bailouts. What's the total - 4.2 trillion right now? And growing to be sure.
I truly don't get this. A check to every taxpayer. I still have my job. By all indicators it is secure. Lots of folks like me - we just keep working and our income/expenses haven't really changed. Actually I spend less than before because I travel less and don't eat out every day for lunch and now most dinners are at home. So I don't get exactly why I'm getting a check. I don't need help. I don't need to further burden the deficit.
A smarter approach might be a stimulus to keep paychecks coming for those who can't work right now, the self-employed, etc. Maybe training for those who need to polish or learn skills. But blanket checks for all? Seems like a half-cocked plan. Why not create jobs with that cash - get some infrastructure work done while nobody's using it? Pay folks to learn a trade or skill or get that next cert that can help us grow. Folks here are always complaining about the loss of manufacturing jobs but these are not coming back. Some folks will need to retool. Now is a perfect time to pull heads out of asses and seek solutions instead of looking for scapegoats.
Re: Coronavirus fears hammer markets - how far will it go?
It's a hobbled-together plan, for sure...but it's the best they could come up with (and agree on) given the time constraint.
Re: Coronavirus fears hammer markets - how far will it go?
Let's not forget though - the democrats are the ones wanting even MORE bailouts! They aren't passing things because they aren't enough - not because they are too much. They are forcing the republicans to increase the amounts in order to get anything passed.
Although, if *you* don't need the money, you could always just not cash the check or give the money to someone that *does* need it (if direct-deposited).
Re: Coronavirus fears hammer markets - how far will it go?
By the way, am I the only one that has noticed that NONE of the people in the daily COVID-19 briefings are wearing masks (none of the politicians, none of the doctors, none of the "experts", none of the reporters - noone.). Doesn't matter if it's a briefing from President Trump, Governor Cuomo, etc.
Also, I was watching LivePD last night (they're back to being live again) and not a single police officer was wearing a mask - and they come in close contact with more people than most - they're dealing with the public all day, every day - and typically get "up close and personal".
So they are telling everyone to wear a mask, yet none of "them" are actually doing it themselves.
"Do as I say and not as I do"?
