Re: Erin's 2006 Civic Sedan
Went to Steve Cook's shop (Audio X) today. After letting him look around at what I already have done in the kicks and talking about what I wanted, we discussed price and I said "done". I'm dropping the car off with him Friday unless something changes. So the plan right now is for him to pretty up my existing kicks and he will do the trunk from scratch. Trunk wall will probably be a pretty simple setup with plexi showing the amp and LEDs to match the amp meters. I'll take care of the rest (wiring, pillars, etc). Looking forward to seeing what he's able to do. :)

Can't wait to see it. I know how you feel about wanting the pride of doing it yourself vs. the convenience of outsourcing it. I've had numerous project that I probably could have tackled myself on the garage build, but as I get older, I've started picking my battles.
Re: Erin's 2006 Civic Sedan
Yea for sure. Time balance for me. I already feel less stress just knowing that at least some of it will be done and done right.

Steve does some very nice work. What are your plans for the trunk wall? I thought you took the IB subs out so you'd have more trunk space?
Will this make you a memeber of Team Audio X now? lol

I actually took the IB subs out so I could put the JL amps in there, which were there long enough for the NC meet. :D
I am actually part of the Audio X team along with a few other fellas on this forum. I think we use the term 'team' lightly... we are a group of friends who have a cool shirt. LOL
Re: Erin's 2006 Civic Sedan
I've had my headunit on my dining room table the last couple nights doing some testing for a hard wired remote. So naturally I paired the mc meters with it. I'm in love. Every few minutes I walk through the living room and go flip the power supply on so I can stare at my creation. The LED swap was my best idea yet. Lol. Seriously though, I dig the heck out of this little combo. Looks so freakin cool.

I love that feeling when you put together exactly what you want, and it turns out as good or better than expected.
I am sure you are feeling that feeling, LOL. It definitely looks amazing Erin!

Re: Erin's 2006 Civic Sedan
Dropped the civic off at Audio X this morning. I got a call from Steve an hour ago about my kicks. The plan was to IB them outside of the car using the existing vents. It's worth noting the only reason I was going that way was because I was unable to get the airspace I wanted... I would have much preferred them to remain sealed but with the enclosure under my feet on the driver's side being such a PITA I didn't see a way around it. Steve said the passenger side enclosure is good and there was no reason to mess up something that worked so he said he can build a sealed enclosure for me on the driver's side that will go down the framerail... it'll take up a bit of space on the floor but my feet will not be on the enclosure anymore. My driving position wouldn't be compromised as it was before. I said, heck yea. So, it looks like I'll be able to keep the woofers sealed as they were. Some cosmetic on the passenger side and a re-build on the driver's side.
He said he was about to start on it and I'm looking forward to seeing it done. I know having him do this stuff for me was the right decision because when I got back home I felt a sense of relief. No nagging in the back of my mind thinking "I need to start on my car!".
