2013 Camry XLE
Hi All,
I currently have a build thread going on DIYMA, but since I've literally torn out all of the wiring of the old system and am planning to redo everything, I figure it's finally a good time to do a build thread here. Hopefully, whatever I've learned over the past year or so will help as I do a (supposedly) much better install this time.
Previous Equipment:
-Infinity Reference REF-6520CX(Passive)
-Infinity Reference Bynnies(rear fill)(sold em off)
-PPi iON 520.4
-Taramps MD1800.1
-Adire Audio Brahma 12"
-Zenclosures sealed enclosure
-KnuKonceptz Kolossus Sound Deadening
-KnuKonceptz Wiring(Power, speaker, and RCAs)
This new, v2.0 will make use of a Helix DSP.3 I bought for cheap, and I'm going to hopefully finally experiment with fibreglass, mainly for the sail panels(but this will be a later goal).
Next post will have pictures of what I've done so far(and will be keeping from the previous build).

Headunit:
I wasted a fair bit of money on a 3sixty.1 trying to keep the factory headunit, but in the end went with a Kenwood DMX905S with Maestro. I have 0 complaints about the headunit - I previously had trouble with getting the reverse camera to work but after months of fiddling with the wiring and 2 RMAd units it worked. Not entirely sure what happened there.

I could have sworn I made a completed photo but I can't find it.

Sound Deadening:
So I went with KnuKnonceptz Kolossus stuff. Fairly happy with it.

I did the outer door skin as well, and I wish I had more coverage, but kindof late for that now. Also did the cards for all four doors-

Re: 2013 Camry XLE
As far as RCAs, I've ran them in the driver's side door sills, and the power will go in the passenger's side. Hopefully there's still room on the driver's side for all the speaker wiring, if not, I will probably have to go underneath the carpet...

Big 3:
I have an overabundance of 1/0 awg from wireandsupply, and have torn out my original 4awg run and will be replacing it with 1/0. Doing this now on the off chance I keep this car for longer than expected/want more thump and will need a HO alt. I used set-screw terminals that I had laying around for the grounds, but everything else will be with lugs. Using techflex and heatshrink/high temp tesa tape to keep everything neat.

I had to sand off a little of this set screw so it would sit flush with the negative terminal.

Still figuring out how I'm going to mount the bassik terminals, they're a helluva lot bigger than my 4awg- mini-ANL to ANL was larger than I thought.

Re: 2013 Camry XLE
Hi all,
I am back with a bracket I made for the fuse holders. I originally actually made a test bracket with some 26gauge steel, but realized it was too flimsy, so I got some 1/8" ABS and dremeled out a slightly modified shape. This is held underneath the plastic cover with some factory locations.
I will take a quick aside to remind anyone reading this to wear PPE when using any kind of power tool. I had a cutting wheel snap and shoot across the garage and hit(I think) one of the garage door rails. Def scary stuff.

There's another 1/0 fuse holder on the bottom as well. And Yes, I know the tape I used is peeling off there.

hammer crimper is pretty bitching as well. Will hopefully have the upgraded alternator wire in Monday.

Really wish I could have thought of a better way to run this, but I had already lugged and heatshrinked the one side. Use zip ties and flush cuts. It's not hitting hoses anywhere, and won't as far as I can see given how stiff the wire is(regretting not just getting knu) and where It's zipties.
EDIT: on second thought I will probably finesse the cable a bit more tomorrow.

I ended up making a large gash in my pinkie finger when tightening the alternator terminal bolt, which ended any work that might have done today with a stream of curses.

Re: 2013 Camry XLE
So I hit a small snag, and ended up finally replacing the positive terminal with the bassik ones I bought long ago. The factory one was rusty, and I originally thought the bolt that holds it together had snapped - but I came back this morning to it and it opened fine... whatever.
I bought an OEM one just in case I couldn't use the bassik one, and here's a quick side by side.

I had to do a little bending of the stock stuff to get the tabs out of the way.

And where it sits right now:

Ran out of heatshrink so I ordered more... amateur hour over here it seems. I'm taking my sweet time with this build, not doing too much work daily but atleast something is getting done- the big 3 is officially complete.

Re: 2013 Camry XLE
As anyone might have guessed, set screw lugs were a poor idea... Redid the battery ground today.

Fiberglass time! And I concur the hammer lug crimper is amazing. I have one but just ordered another lug crimp tool that can be used when you don’t want to remove the wire:
