Another "Shallow Mount / Small Enclosure" Thread

I have been searching around on the forums and looking at what has been posted before. I see that when this topic comes up a lot of people suggest the JL, Kicker, Sundown & Dayton. I have also seen people ask about the Focal Flax 10 but i havent seen too much feed back around that Focal. I am hoping that maybe someone will chime in. I modeled up a few different subs, both 8 & 10 and it looks like the Focal P25FS & the JL 10TW1 seem to work in my tiny 'under the seat' setups. Do you guys see anything goofy here? Would you recommend that i look at another modeling response? I am really open to any input thought on this.

For less than $100 more, I’d select the JL 10TW3 over the 10TW1 just due to the TW3 having 50% more excursion (15.2 vs 10mm). I’d select the TW3 over the TW5 for the same reason since the TW5 is extremely shallow. Since output is primarily excursion and cone area, the 10TW3 will have more output. And because distortion is greater near a driver’s limits, if you can stay further away from those limits since you have more output, you should have less distortion with comparable drivers.

I took at your advise and looked into the 10TW3, the response looks really good in the limited space i have, but im not too sure about the impedance curve

what size have you run these in? Maybe i fat fingered the T/S parameters... i'll have to look again

I missed the Note in the TS Paramaters to divide the RE by 4

I tested the 12TW3 in its recommended 0.8 cu.ft. enclosure.

What program is that?

Is that to change from wired in series to wired in parallel? If so you'll have to divide the BL by 4 too, I think. If you're lucky the manufacturer will list parameters for both series and parallel wiring.

Thank you @Justin Zazzi... I will have to find a real set of T/S parameters when it's time, they just listed out a few
