Power distribution for accessory items
I posted this question elsewhere as well but seeing as how half of you are banned ...
When you have several accessory items like a processor, line drivers, eq, etc...What do you do when wiring them up to account for power/ground and remote?
In terms of the remote signaling, I plan on using a relay since I'll have 2 amps, a processor and 2 line drivers. But I'm thinking more along the lines of power distribution for these smaller devices. Most distribution blocks go up to about 8awg wire size, but most of these accessory devices use phoenix style termination blocks that accept small gauge input wire. I was thinking of using simple terminal blocks, but then what about fusing? Since I want to keep a single audio ground, all of these will be grounded to the same point on the chassis and will get their power from direct from the battery as well.
Are there any good solutions for fusing and distributing power for smaller gauge wire? What's recommended? What do you typically do?
Thanks !

Re: Power distribution for accessory items
I use the accessory lead to trigger a relay which feeds power to one of these fuse strips. I power it by running a jumper across all the terminals on one side

Re: Power distribution for accessory items
I know its not the best solution, but I always piggyback on my large gauge distro blocks ie; insert small gauge with large gauge together, making sure I get a good bite with whatever clamping system on the small wire, then I inline fuse near the smaller current consumer......when wires are secured and prettied up, you canot tell they are there, as I usually run the small wire under the large into the block. Of course I don't compete in instal either.....lol, but it works for me!

Got a pic of one of these jobs Al?
Sent from my Springfield XD with love!
Re: Power distribution for accessory items
I also do what Al does, line from batt, thru relay and triggered by key Accy.. I did it first for my ham radio then realized how awesome it was to suppress flashing on my HID fogs on arm/disarm, etc.

A little overkill but very sexy looking

Yeah, I'll say. That's a really nice piece- ground bar included as well.
Here's what I picked up:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/400300835415...84.m1439.l2649
Comes with a cover and I can direct feed it from a fused 8gauge to the battery.
BTW- James, very nice clean wiring job there bud! I love those Arcs. Really pretty.

Thanks, but I can't take credit for it. That is Glenn's work.
