Searching for targeted information doesn't work...

Hello!

I'm trying to do a targeted search for posts containing information about the Alpine PDX-F4 and PDX-V9 amplifiers but I can't see to filter out all the items that have Alpine attached to them. When I try to search "PDX" or "PDX-F4", no results. Why is this?

Chris

I always search like this: site:caraudiojunkies.com: Alpine PDX

<edit> e.g. type/paste
site:caraudiojunkies.com: into your browser, followed by whatever you're searching for.

You can search any forum in the same way, and you'll likely produce much better search results than using a site's search function.

Thanks, Grinder! Yeah, whenever I use the search feature here in the site, it just doesn't work well at all.

Appreciate the tip! :)

Unfortunately, vBulletin has never really been that good at searching anything other than common words. Model numbers and any word shorter than 4 letters can be a struggle for the indexing algorithm. Also, there's no way to use wildcard characters in the searches.
