This is the layout I’m planning on. The drivers will be a few inches higher, closer the windshield height. Woofer enclosure will be aperiodic vented through the firewall. The dash will evolve quite a bit along the way, but this is the starting point.

Had to get creative with the doors. They are sliding so couldn’t apply anything to the surface. They are only about 5/8” thick with no access to the inside. No removable panels. So the solution was 2 part urethane rubber and poured it inside the door.

I install and service/calibrate machines user for vehicle service. Tire changers, wheel balancers, lifts, alignment machines…….

Not audio related but I thought I would provide some of the vehicle build process details. First off the chassis. It is a 1947 ford COE chassis stripped down to the rails. It is fully boxed and heidts complete front and 4 link rear suspension installed. The motor is relocated to the cargo area to make more room up front and also to help reduce the heat in the cab. The frame was notched so the motor can be dropped out of the bottom. Adjustable coilovers and wilwood disc brakes on all four corners. Also have power steering and brakes. Everything is blasted and powder coated. There is a pic of the builder, John, and I discussing things. I am the one that looks like Santa Claus in the summer.Resized_Resized_20230321_202431.jpeg

Got some pictures taken of the 1949 Grumman van today by an amazing professional photographer, my daughter. No, they are not my planes. My daughter made arrangements to take pictures at an airport. Thought it was fitting with the aviation history of Grumman.

So after several hours thinking about the driver layout, I have decided to scrap the Accuton mid and tweet for an sb acoustic point source driver. Planning on a steel sphere enclosure for them. they are a similar size compared to the accuton so I know there is plenty of room.IMG_1424.jpegIMG_5002.jpeg

Time to cut and weld and grind and so on. This will be the enclosure for the seas coax. I don’t want it to be just mounted to the top of the dash so it will be motorized and when everything is off they will lower below the dash level. Yes I know my garage is a mess.

I just noticed I called them sb acoustic in an earlier post. I guess I had the 12” woofers in mind which are the ones that are sb acoustic. Sorry for the confusion.
