    How are you measuring?

So if you cross your mids at 80 and your sub at 80 then you have drivers playing the same frequencies...

    Wait...
If you set a LPF @ 80hz, then 80hz is just where it hits the actual slope selected. But the particular "knee off" you speak of will actually start a few hz higher than 80.

But if I tap the play button with my finger (digit), wouldn't that make it digital ?

I understand an xover is a slope, not a brick wall. My mids and subs are gapped. (subs lp 63 on 24, mids hp 80 on 24) Yesterday at lunch I thought about this thread and bumped my sub up to 80. Didn't care for it with just that(subs are delayed 37.5" in normal tune). Being the audio idiot I am, felt I needed a little more info (and time) before proceeding. I'm intrigued by the concept and open to learning more.

I thought they always named it by the -3 point, regardless of slope. If that's the case, the 'knee' would have to move with the slope. Farther away from the -3 point for shallow slopes, closer for steeper slopes.
