4-wheeling in the mud is universal, sho' nuff.
but gettin' down with a bonafide cajun queen in the back yard while the heat of a summer day turns cool with the showers, that's another kind of special.
I'm old but I'm not too old to remember days where standing around an ice chest of beer while someone's either fixing fish or shrimp, or whatever was going on the grill, turned into a little backyard fete for a few..
it helps when you've got the liquored up part, of course.

Re: It's hurricane season Y'all!
When I was the head usher in the entertainment hall, we had a zydeco band do an extended set.
The cord kept failing to the squeezebox.
They were in their own little world, once everything was up and running.
I also, danced in the rain on my wedding night !

I found a way to mix zydeco music in a way that the accordion does not attempt to drill through your forehead after the second song, even fairly loud.... It is also accordion player friendly.
Something had to be done... first gig was ROUGH on me....

I have a few recorded swamp pop tracks and they are very enjoyable to listen to.
Sent from my Springfield XD with love!

Re: It's hurricane season Y'all!
zydeco lives?
my dad used to live across the bayou from some famous players, they played near the bank, and both sides of the bayou had crowds dancing on Saturday afternoon, nights.
Bayou Lafourche isn't that well known for their cajun musical influence but it was as much a part of it as almost anywhere else, not that I'm a historian or anything.
That accordion can be a little overbearing, even live..
