if you still have 240v at the outlet it should be fine

10ga should be big enough for a 1.5 ton, how did you have it hooked up on the bench? Has it got an inline gfi?
Notice the flex conduit coming out the left side of the panel http://www.caraudiojunkies.com/attac...3&d=1471534958
It goes directly to a single gang box with the 240v outlet, and it has 10ga black and red hot wires, and a green ground. This was my test setup, and the A/C was sitting on my table. When I installed the unit, I re-used the same conduit/cable, but it was about 8' too short to reach the panel, so I ran an 8' stick to a junction box and tied the two together...the total run is about 30 feet. When I get the rest of the back wall covered, I'm going to redo the whole run with rigid conduit at the ceiling and have it drop near the unit.
I think I found the culprit

I'm having surgery for that in 2 weeks...
A new cap cost me $7.80 and it fixed the problem. It's cooling like a champ now, but with only 1/3 of the garage insulated, it's fighting an uphill battle...for now.

Why settle for 8 feet of cluttered work bench when you can have 16?
front ankle banger supports should have been on the inside of the posts, above side horizontal supports......
