As some of you know, I sold Mary to my little brother and bought a new car, a 2013 Taurus SEL. He shall be called James. Why? Because I like the name.
First things first, replacing the factory speakers. They sound good, the best factory sound system I've ever heard, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Nothing crazy, probably a middle of the line component set. I will be keeping the factory radio. After that I plan on some basic aesthetic mods, including blacking out the grille (other than the chrome) with plastidip, dipping the wheels anthracite grey, carbon fiber pillar covers, LED switchback blinkers, HID headlights, tinting the windows, and maybe tinting the taillights. After that comes performance. Cold air intake, possible exhaust, brake upgrades, and whatever else it takes to make 300HP out of this V6. Finally, big audio. Full 2 or 3 way active setup, DSP/EQ, amps, subs, all while keeping the spare tire accessible and the trunk somewhat usable. Maybe a pair of 8s mounted to the rear deck in an IB setup. But that is a LONG ways out. Patience is a virtue that I very rarely have, but I have a car payment to take care of before anything else. Stay tuned, ladies and gents.
