I think the 3d effect of the trim piece, with a nice roundover would look better.....but either way it's gonna look good, nice work!
well I wouldnt be able to round over the edge of the mdf because of the sharp edges. Cant get in to some of the areas with a router. Dont really feel like doing it by hand. The "paint" I plan on using is the link below. It will have a factory texture finish to it.

Why not one big hole in the mdf, instead of trying to roundover all those smaller holes and tight corners?
There ya go papa, that's what I intended when I stated roundover.....not outlining the detail with the mdf, just around the design.....
