we knew North Korea would do what it do, I don't know how it's a surprise or something that "comes up" in the national radar of awareness, we call our journalism corps or perhaps, political bodies governing these United States.

seems like our objective has been to allow regimes to expand nuclear commitments in their whack-a-mole way, with us not even bothering to "whack" over the decades, as the nuclear timelines play out, 10 years from start to "pop" being a good rough estimate if you can get to the yellow cake.

but should we exercise our "world cop" status, we become the instigator, the aggressor, the less-political-minded adversary of these whack-job regimes.

so who would think a pre-emptive strike against North Korea to cripple their nuclear ambition, would result in WWIII? Probably a few, haha...
