Much better, in fact, great. But ugh, the damn KEF sticks out like Ron Jeremy at a nudist colony in Japan..

Yea, I know. I considered building a removable grill with magnets. But, TBH, I actually like looking at them. Those Kefs are a thing of beauty.

I took a couple pics with the DSLR since cell phone pics are junky.

So Erin, when's the next g2g at your house? I know a lot of us are really wanting to spend some quality time with these things. One serious question...why didn't you hit the left and right edges of the cabs with a roundover bit?

I'm actually considering doing something like what you did and might get with you for some guidance. I'd be using all Scan Discovery though since they're cheap and "good enough". Would likely use the 10" discovery woofer and 2" discovery widebander like what's in my truck...or maybe one of the larger Discovery midranges with the 10" woofer and the Usher 9950c tweets I'm already using in the house with insanely good results. Cabs would be ported with the intent on staying subless. All I do is watch tv through the home speakers anyway. Power would likely be Crown and processing would likely be from mini dsp.
They might say "don't try this at home" but nothing about not trying it at your friend's house.

    Re: Active 3-way DIY Setup.

HT overhaul is coming and things just got real.

I found a local seller with a lot of JBL Pro/Cinema gear that came from a local cinema that closed down a couple years ago. Long story short, I managed to pick up some really, really nice gear which fits perfectly with my plans for the new build.

For about $700, I ultimately walked away with the following:
    •(4) 2035 HPL-1 woofers
    •(4) 2446j/2380a cd/horn combos.
    •(4) 8330A surrounds.
    •(1) QSC 1644 4-channel amp.
    •(1) 2242H subwoofer.

I sold the 18" sub and QSC amp already... I'm about $50 shy of breaking even on everything after that.

The gear in general is practically new. The theater purchased all new gear 6 months before closing down and moving to the new, larger theater across town. Some of it was literally never used. I just need to clean the cobwebs off some of it, literally.

I also just ordered up 4 SI HT18's to go IB.

Here's a few pics of the haul:

Joo don't need all those shitty horns.....box them bishes up and send them care of claydo, yadkintown n.c. immediately!!!! I will even forgive you for bestowing the burden on me...... although the wifey may not after she's seen the new amp bill.......stated I was jealous over "there"........and here that sentiment continues.......oh.....and the woofers are welcome to join the horns in their travels.....
