Swap 6x9’s for 6.5s? (midbass, front door location)
Trying to decide if I’d get punchier/better midbass from 6.5s than my current 6x9s. Specifically, looking at either the SI TM65 MKIV, or Blam 165.
Here’s my current set up
2021 Ram quad cab
Helix V8 DSP (tweets, midbass, midrange, rear fill)
+ Infinity Kappa 1K mono for subs
gb10’s in sail panels
xcelsus xx325 in dash corner (stock locations)
CDT cl-69s in front doors (6x9)
2 x Dayton 10” HO subs in ported box
crossovers
sub 65
mb 80 / 250
mr 250 / 3000
Sound deadening throughout.
I’ve been playing with different tuning combinations, midbass, sub, curves, tweaks, etc. and while these 6x9s were decent when I used them for a more full range purpose, in a dedicated midbass setup, I wonder if a 6.5 may be better? Or, am I just missing something?

No… keep the 6x9… and doors are the worst place to put midbass also… kicks ftw
cone area is king, You have it the wrong way around, 6.5” would’ve been better playing higher, 6x9 will make better dedicated midbass

Are you having issues with the current setup or just looking for next level? Maybe post the RTA measurements if you're having issues and people here can try to help.

Curious about those measurements as well. The new Ram has higher mounting locations in the doors than previous generations, and could possibly be causing some of the issues.
Are you not entertained?!?!
