Probably a stupid question..... But here goes

A lot of the time my celica is not used. When I do use it, I had to replace the sub amp fuse if I wind up the system. My problem is that I tend to disconnect the battery when the car is not in use, would this have a detrimental effect on a capacitor ? Or would I have to keep doing an initial charge cycle when I reconnect the battery ?

The refresh rate on a cap is pretty quick so I don't see any harm in disconnecting it when not in use. Run the vehicle for a minute or two at most and you should be good to go from there.

I don't think it will hurt the cap, but I'm curious what your reasoning is for d/c the battery while the car is dormant? Would a "battery tender" not be a better solution?

Just a heads up if you don't drive it much you probably use a fuel additive like Stabil to keep your gasoline from turning bad while it's sitting. (My father said that, not me I promise)
