Id go with a remington 870 if I were you. Or get an 1100 if you can afford it.

I own a Mossberg 500 youth model 20ga (for my 10th b-day) and I also have a model 500 in 12 ga adult size. You know how tall I am....I still prefer the youth model.

HA! I have a remington Youth 20Ga I got for my 13th.. My brother had it for a while and I thought we were going to go to fisticuffs when I wanted it back... Great quail gun and you can walk all day with it.

I own a couple Mossberg 500's, both 12ga. I love them, never had a problem with either one. One is a pistol grip only with an 18.5" barrel (the home defense gun), and the other has wood furniture and a 28" accu-choke barrel (adjustable choke). They're both from the 1980's, and they work great. I got the home defense one for $125, and the other for a little over $200 (can't remember exactly). I chose the Mossberg for home defense because it has the loudest action out of all the pump action shotguns, and let's face it, the sound of a pump action shotgun is the WORST sound to hear if you are breaking into a house. Its the international signal for kiss your ass goodbye. Lol
