Thread: Hello all.

  1. Back To Top    #1

    Hello all.

Hey everyone, I'm Matt , found this forum while searching for a good car audio forum. Seeing how I've been messing with car audio stuff for years I figured it was about time I join a forum and take advantage of a wider knowledge base than just my buddies locally.
I live in central MA, I like cars and loud music and excellent sound quality. All that good stuff. Not sure what else to say, whether I should tell you guys about my setup (I doubt it will impress anyone here), or what...
So yeah, hi, what's up? Lol

    Re: Hello all.

Thanks guys, feeling welcome already (and already read through all the classifieds lol).

Aight, you asked for it, here's the setup:
    Alpine IXA-W404 head unit
    Alpine KTP-445A inline amp
Alpine type R component setup up front
Alpine type R 2-ways in the back
Infinity Reference Series 611A amp (bet you thought I was an Alpine fanboy for a minute there. Lol)
    Kicker SoloBaric L7 12" in a 2cu/ft sealed box

I know its not amazing, but it's well balanced and decently loud. (And if you knew what I paid for the stuff you'd hate me. I never pay full price and have a lot of luck when it comes to buying used audio stuff).

Nice ! Have you tried stuffing the box? You might be surprised

    Re: Hello all.

I've stuffed boxes before, and you're right, the results are amazing. After I stuffed my old 1cu/ft box all my friends started doing the same after hearing the difference. I might stuff the new box at some point, I was anxious to get it in after building it and I've been happy with the sound so far, its just one of those things that's on the list but pretty near the bottom right now. Lol
Right now my top priority is replacing my recently deceased secondary battery. Alternator is not too happy with me right now, gotta get a Yellow top before the alternator calls it quits. Forgot to list the 2 farad cap in the specs I posted, but its there too.

    Re: Hello all.

Welcome aboard, Matt! We're a fairly new site, so the content is more about quality than it is quantity

Nice system you've got there. I have to warn you that putting extra batteries and/or caps won't help a struggling alternator...it will actually be more of a strain.
