    German Maestro factory tour

Today I received an invitation to the GM factory and Audi Werke.

This is going to happen 16 and 17 February 2014..

    I'm really excited about it,

Are there questions that need to be answered by our forum members?

If so, shoot and I'll do my best to get them answered..

I'd be interested to see if they still make raw drivers for MB Quart. The last gen Premium and Reference comps (as well as the Q Series) looked to be very similar to some of their offerings. I would also be interested to hear if the new Premium and Reference comps are made by them as well.

The similarities are there because German Maestro was created by MB Quart's employees that were either made redundant or quit on their own, when the company changed hands.

I know that the companies are related, though seeing as the split was almost 10 years ago now it's a little strange that the two were still very recently making very similar speakers independently of each other. It also a little strange that out of the 4 sister brands maxxsonics owns none of them appear to share speaker lines with MB Quart, something that the rest the brands do quite often. Also it looks like MB has replaced the silk dome tweets in the Reference and the Premium line with inverted dome aluminum "WideSphere" tweets much like the GM "UltraSphere" tweets.
