People should wear helmets while riding motorcycles. It's dumb not to.

Yeap. People should choose to wear them, not just for themselves. For the benefit of everyone else.

    Re: Possibly highest IQ

Unless someone is ugly, how does wearing a helmet benefit others?

I am not arguinh for the legitimacy of Langin's genius. But the ability to memorize and draw on a collection of trivial facts is not an indicator of higher cognitive ability.

A student's are the types that memorize the study guides and ace tests. C and B average students tend to spend more time understanding yhe overall concepts and do not do so well on tests but end up a better understanding of the material. Talk to someone that has worked human resources for a long time at a company where it matters to hire smart people. They will tell you that the C and B average students make better assets to the company.

Helmet = less damage in case of accident = fewer medical costs. And we all pay for others' medical costs, one way or another. Is that enough a reason?

I can't believe we're actually debating the use of a helmet. I suppose some of you don't wear seatbelts when driving your cars either?

    Re: Possibly highest IQ

I do wear a seatbelt, cause I hate to think of my wife and kids going on without me, but I believe seat belt laws are unconstitutional. I wave the banner of liberty and if I wish to put myself in harms way without infringing on the rights of others, I should have the freedom to do so.
