Is this the WiFi version - like for Android auto?

Yep, works perfectly with wireless Android Auto and should be fine with wireless Car Play as well. I've used Android via WiFi with both a Pixel 2 XL and a Note 10+

Other than the 996 which adds on board Nav (which isn't necessary at all with having AA/Carplay), this is the cream of the crop of Kenwoods, and arguably the king of all Double Dins on the market right now. Great Unit. Sorry you won't be able to enjoy it any more. GLWS.
