    2012 Civic Simple Budget Build

This came to me with an "install" done by another local shop. Here's a few before pictures.

What it looked like after an hour of house cleaning.

So, I started under the hood. First thing I did was re run the power wire through the drivers side factory grommet to avoid running it across the engine.

And mounted the fuse holder as it was just "hanging" before.

    Drivers side wire run

    Passenger side wire run

    Radio harness wired and secured

All necessary system wires behind dash ready for install

Radio installed with a Metra dash kit.

So now we move on to the trunk.

    Power/ground distribution

    Cardboard false floor template

False floor made from 3/4" mdf for strength

The floor will be made from 4 separate pieces. The front and the two side "ears" will be permanently mounted and the middle will lift out for maintenance reasons.

This is where the amps will be. I really wished the amps were of the same year. That's gonna really bug me.

That's where it's at as of now. It will be completed on Monday and will update then.

I also fixed the tweeter install and soldered the wires.

The sad thing is that there are people think that kind of hack job is an acceptable install.

I can't believe that a shop would turn that kind of work loose, and expect a referral off of it. I mean thats how shops advertise usually is word of mouth......that's rediculous......

    2012 Civic Simple Budget Build

Here is a little more progress.

    Wire entry holes

    Vynil bottom

    Carpet sides

    Done

Test fit of amps and passives

    Hole in the false floor

Finding the height of the legs to hold the amp rack up to the floor

    Power side of amp wiring

All the false floor panels are covered. Just need to get them in the car and mounted. I will have it wrapped up in the morning.

Man I wished those amps matched
