    Trouble wtih my 2000 Excursion

Hey all, first post. Been doing basic stereos for 20 years or so. Install a head unit, speakers and amps, built a couple enclosures, nothing crazy...

Installed my trusty Alpine from 2007 (working when pulled from last vehicle) into my 2000 Excursion with "Premium" sound.
Powers on, but no sound at all.

Front speakers should run directly off head unit
4 rear speakers run off the RICP, that's another issue.

Stock head unit works fine with all 6 speakers

Anyone have any ideas? I have read a million threads about powering an amp, which I don't think I have other than the RICP, which should only affect the 4 rear speakers.
Head unit biting the dust? Luckily the wife has allotted me with $0 to spend on this truck.

can't find an owner's manual under "trusty alpine", but check settings for internal amp on/off...

Find installer to make Alpine work or reinstall stock H. U.

Model of Alpine owners manual may provide insight that is needed.

first off, nice SN. you a sublime fan?

I guess my notifications aren't turned on here, but someone suggested that on another forum (Power IC). I didn't think that would be it, since I've plugged/unplugged the HU a few times already. Low and behold, that setting was off by default.

As a bonus, I am getting sound to all 6 speakers. Based on the wiring diagram, that doesn't make sense, but whatever.

Now I can throw in my front door speakers and subs, and amps. I prepped all my wires last week, so it "should" be a quick and easy install.

Yeah. When I first started on forums, my 98 Z28 had a Sublime sticker on back. Seemed like as good a name as any.

Glad you were able to sort it out
