    2017 Honda CR-V

This is an attempt at an install.
My plan was/is to install what equipment I have in this car. I attempted that today.
    Getting ready:

    The factory shit

The problem is my tweets don't match. I had to warranty a tweet and they changed the housing. It wasn't a problem before because they were mounted behind factory panels. Now they are on display. I have access to a newer version but they housing for that doesn't fit in the factory mount.

Also the crossovers for these speakers are huge. They won't fit behind the door panel so if I can find a matching tweeter I'll have to run wires through the molex plug into the door. If I can't find a matching tweet I may just buy another component set.

Why not just go active? Processing is ridiculously cheap these days. And something like the Seas Neo might fit in there without issue. For component sets there's a HAT Unity comp set with 6.5's, tweets, and passives for sale on the other forum. Not sure how good the price is but still mentioning it.
They might say "don't try this at home" but nothing about not trying it at your friend's house.

    The speakers are officially installed!
I decided to ditch the factory crossovers and just use caps on the tweeters.
I found these that are 5600hz for 4ohm so they are 2800hz for 8ohm.

Not alot of install pictures because its just a speaker swap.
Here's how close the door panel is to the baffle

    And the tweets installed.

A picture of those beautiful titanium cones. Well sorta anyway

    That's all for now.

    Re: 2017 Honda CR-V

    Few things.
    1) My buddy had a matching tweet and so I traded him my newer model for his older model. Thanks dude!

    2) The deadener I have had for 8 or 9 years now did not stick to the metal. I cleaned the metal, placed the deadener, and used the roller to stick it down. it immediately started peeling off of the metal. So i guess there is a life to this kind of stuff.

    3) 2800hz @ 6db/octave is a little low crossover point and too shallow of a slope for these tweets. I got a little pop and some distortion at times. I had them at 3200hz @ 12db/octave before. I need to get some other caps or a premade crossover to up the crossover point.

Yes. Who woulda thunk that finding a tweeter crossover would be as difficult as it is. Building one is one thing but you'd think they would be available premade.
The other one I found was 5K @ 12db/octave. A little higher than I wanted.

What if I Can't Find the Exact Value That I Need?

If you cannot find a value that is within 10% or so of your desired value, there are a couple of things that can be done. Here are some suggestions for dealing with the various components.

Capacitors: Combine two capacitors by connecting them in parallel. Using them this way you can simply add the two values together to get the total equivalent capacitance.
