    2013 Scion FR-S

Decided it was time for a change so I sold my other cars and ended up with this. Really had my heart set on a Miata RF until I drove one and one of these was next on my list.

Haven't decided on amps yet. Thinking of using the FDP 6.900 from my last build and adding a FDP 1.2000 but may go with something smaller to save some of the already limited trunk space. Probably going with the miniDSP C-DSP 8x12 DL for the processor since I'm lazy and hate tuning.

I always liked the looks of those cars. I'm anxious to see where this build goes.

I'm looking forward to getting it done. It will be a definite departure from my normally obnoxiously loud builds but that wasn't going to happen in this car without a ton of work and we've been so busy at work the last couple months I don't have a ton of free time these days so I'm trying to keep it a little more simple. The mid bass and midrange will go in the factory door and dash locations and I ordered some tweeter pods for the pillars. Amps will likely be hidden under the trunk floor with just a basic sub box that I can remove easily if necessary. Trying to keep the spare tire. Really wanted to IB the pair of 18's I had but didn't have enough height in the trunk.
Not sure why the picture turned sideways but...

Of the 2 (or maybe 3) of these cars I have listened to with systems they have all sounded excellent.
It seems like a good solid platform to get a nice SQ system out of.

Love these cars. Looking forward to the build. BTW- You can still get great bass without the 18's.... Even a pair of 15's is overkill, but doable. But a pair of 12's or single 15 would be great.

This looks great and is going to be great fun for you! I'm truly intrigued by the mini dsp and how the tuning goes with your setup, watching and excited for you!

15's would be tough too, the trunk is only 14" tall. There's 2-3" of styrofoam under the carpet in the trunk that holds the jack and accessories and if I removed that I could fit the 18's on an angled baffle or some 15's pretty easily but I'm not sure I want to give up the spare. If I could find a 2nd Raven 12 for a reasonable price I would go that route but they don't come up that often and I can't justify the price of a new one.

The DSP came pretty quick, ordered Saturday and got it Wednesday. Still waiting on the tweeter pods I ordered early last month though.

There's something about this car that's really special. I like this car too. Excited to see the outcome of your build.

Tweeter pods finally showed up. Took a month and a half but he threw in some of the adjustable angle mounts for free for the delay in shipping. Also got the mounts for the other speakers made. Nothing fancy, just traced the factory speakers. Found a good deal on a FDP 1.2000 today and grabbed that as well.
