    Kenwood/Pioneer Double Din HU’s

Does anyone know a quick way to distinguish the 6.2” HU’s from the 6.75” and larger? My truck already has a Metra kit for a 6.2”, so I’d like to narrow my search to only those, but a lot of the info just says double din. Is there a certain number that differentiates the 6.2” from the larger units?

Im looking for 6.2”, CD, Bluetooth, hands free, front aux, front usb, Pandora, iPhone compatibility, and 2 sets of RCA preouts required. Doesn’t have to be touchscreen, and would prefer a volume knob.

As always, thanks for any help!

On most Kenwood’s, the 6.2” has the CD slot visible above the screen and buttons to the left, the 6.95” has the CD slot behind the screen and buttons on the bottom. There might be one with the bigger screen with smaller buttons to the left. The chassis are the same size, so they should work in the same kits. Only hang up could be if the screen is motorized. This only applies to touchscreen radios. All the non-touchscreen ones should all be the same sizes unless it’s a strange off brand.

ID:	6821This is the kit I have, which had a BOSS 6.2” double din in it. Kenwood said any double din would fit in a double din kit. I don’t understand how this would happen, unless there is just more overhang all the way around. Is that how the 6.75” and 7” head units are built?

yeah, i believe they're all physically the same size but screen size varies depending on if CD slot is visible and button placement (bottom or left)

So, If I get one with a 6.95” screen, it will just slide in the kit until the back of the screen hits? I think the 6.2” almost fit flush, which is why I was having doubts.

Yes, any Kenwood double DIN radio should fit in that kit, only thing that could be a hang up is if it has a motorized face and slightly drug on the bottom of the kit opening. If that happened, it could be remedied with a bit of filing.
