    Factory installed Sirius XM Antenna

I'm sure this may be a dead horse but I'm looking to purchase a new aftermarket HU for my 2012 F250 Super Duty but the boys at Crutchfield are telling me that I have to use an additional antenna in order to get the Sirius XM to work in the truck? Who the hell wants another wire and antenna running around their vehicle when there is a perfectly good one that was installed by the factory that made the dam truck?!?!

There has to be a back door way to get this to work, we have trucks that can parallel park itself but we can't hook up an existing antenna to a new head unit?

    Any advise would be appreciated!

Will something like this work for your vehicle?

If the truck has the factory installed satellite radio tuner, you can use the existing antenna. If the truck didn't have satellite radio from the factory, it probably doesn't have the antenna for it.

I spoke at length with the Crutchfield fella that popped up in the little window and he had nothing for me. The truck does have a factory installed Sirius Sat antenna but it is not compatible with the new HU's I'm looking at. I'm really befuddled here, there has to be some kind of rig for this problem. I can't be the only fat ass trying to do this right?!?!

I sent that exact link to the guy at Crutchfield when we were talking and he said it would not work on my 2012. I honestly think he knew a rig to use but it probably a Gerry (Sorry to the Gerry's) Rig and he can't tell me for liability reasons.

You need "tuner" for after market HU. (my thoughts)

Lutherwaldo , is it what Euphonic hinted @ ?

Sirius , being what it is , might not be worth "cutting-corners" on ?

Sirius is not HD radio , but is paid for monthly. I listen to mp 3`s as a "better than no music" option. I would not use a hdmi
with a hdmi to rca connection Quality issue
