    Re: port size help

125 watts is fine and if you can keep the music above the tuning or 30 hZ , you`ll be fine without the FMODS , for now.

Great speakers cost a lot and may sound better than less costly speakers , they are the final determinant/between your ears and the sound you hear !

The longer the length of the individual port tubes , the lower the frequency
What is fs of sub you will be using ?
Your port tubes may have bends to accomodate desired frequency of tuning.
WINISD , bassbox , et cetera [ enclosure design programs ]
Did you use only one port/tube for your enclosure ?

I love it. Sub sounds great, and hits supernhard. Its all carpeted and all my wires are in wire looms. Pretty good if you ask me of course im bias. The dash speakers sound like Chit, but already have tweeters on the way, and higher rated 6X9's. The ones I have now don't sound like Chit but don't sound good

    Re: port size help

finally got my FMOD's today thay seems like they cut alot of bass out! had to turn the bass up on the HU to make it sound good, also my amp is getting hot it overheated once (that was before I got the FMOD's so I know it isn't them causing it). I put some spacers under it so it sits above the box about 5/8" so it gets more air hasn't done it since. do you think it's getting hot because my 6X9'S are underated for that amp? They are only 60 watts RMS the amp is 125 RMS. Got new ones on the way, don't care if i blow them just dont want to damage the amp. so two questions... ONE do you think that's what caused it to get hot and overheat? TWO should I disconnect them and wait for the new ones to come in, so I don't damage the amp?

Amps get hot ! "like cook an egg hot" ? or Felt hot to touch? Is the power wire getting warm ?
Amp is seeing a "load" , a lot of current may be flowing through it ! (subwoofer)subwoofer is cause.

Yeah, the sub is what needs the most power !

Try disconnecting sub and just power the by nines for a while, amp should not get even "warm".
