    Enclosure building

So I'm wanting to make my own ported box, the trouble is i don't have the instruments or experience. Here's my collective take on how i can make something half way decent. If i know the bread and butter zone for a sub? Say its 2.25 - 2.75 cubes per sub. Can i make an enclosure that's, say 2.5 cubes and be okay? I mean, it's not going to be tuned to a specific freq, but it'll still be tuned to some freq that should work for that sub, right?

A sealed box does not need to even be close, just knock it together and Rock On!!

A box building program, then enter Thiele/Small parameters.
A vented or ported box is very driver specific [needs to be exact]

    Three boxes tested or ess-plained , sealed , band-passed , ported .

A passive radiator literally (takes place of vent ), and is tunable. Easy Peasy!

Check out bcae1.com in the enclosure section. You can play with the numbers based on how much room you have, and it will also tell you the port size needed. There is a ton of other great info on that site as well.

    I.e. : 12 inch ported enclosure [ https://www.parts-express.com/dayton...-coil--295-512 ]

A.C. Thuras patented " Bass-Reflex " in 1932 , Thiele / Small parameters allow for properly designing and building a vented or ported enclosure.

The lenth of your port will decide the frequency the box is tuned to.

The shorter the port length , the higher the tuned frequency !
