As a Christian, god wants you to be ignorant. It keeps you from questioning your faith or the parts of the bible that contradict themselves or flat out don't make any sense.
I would like to know though why so many Christians are against abortion when god seems to be all for it?
Just because the bible says certain things does not mean that God is the agent of those things.
It is against God’s nature for Him to be evil.
I guess it depends on what you consider to be evil and whether or not commanding someone to do evil makes you evil as well.
You seem to be implying that all of this actually came to happen, and that God caused it
Hosea was preaching these would be the punishment if Israel didn't stop worshiping idols
This was simply a warning, much like telling a child that you'll spank him until his butt catches fire. I don't recall ever reading about it actually happening. If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse.
Numbers 5:27
This is simply a history lesson. Again, you're implying that God ordered the massacre of the pregnant women, but you conveniently left out the part where it said "Menahem son of Gadi became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria ten years. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord. During his entire reign he did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit."At that time Menahem, starting out from Tirzah, attacked Tiphsah and everyone in the city and its vicinity, because they refused to open their gates. He sacked Tiphsah and ripped open all the pregnant women.
2 Kings 15:16
Whether or not it actually happened isn't the point as much as god being ok with these things happening to begin with. If I were to imply anything it would be that the bible is nothing more than a fairy tale to begin with.
You may actually come to believe in fairy tales.
