So the dash, its been completely cut, chopped, rebuilt, remade..... Its only a shell of what it was, literally....

The dash started as a pseudo center dash cluster with the MASSIVE thing in the middle that extended across to the drivers side.

The initial idea I had was to cut the left side of the dash to make is symmetric and then open up the right side and mount the drivers in the corners firing thru a "channel" out of the dash. Jason listened, he took the dash and then began to mark a much larger cut then I had initially envisioned but he had an idea based on what we had discussed and I let him run with it.

When he was done this is what was cut away.

The entire top piece was cut and a frame was left to work with.

Once the frame was cut it was tested in place with drivers in position based on testing I had done beginning in November of last year.

A few more cuts had to be made to the front of the dash to allow the drivers to play at the angles I wanted so out came the scalpel again.

Once the front was cut away this is what was left of the frame in place. This allows the drivers complete and open forward transparency.

It like a combination of Ben Vollmer's Acura dash, and Highly's Mk4 GTi. I bet it sounds pretty good. So the 13W7 works IB?

    Re: Chef's Scion xB 2.0

This isnt the finished product, its a frame and a working model to get it back on the road and an idea of how it will perform, that was put together by Jason and Todd, hence the GTi look.
As for the 13w7 it is INSANE!!! The low end extension is beautiful and so impactful. The car just pressurizes and then all of a sudden there is a visceral bass coming up from in front of you.

    Re: Chef's Scion xB 2.0

The drivers side....It was much more difficult for several reasons
#1 there was a cluster of wires there
#2 the wiper motor is sitting in the way on the outside of the firewall
#3 the bracing for the crash bar is inside the position of the passenger side.

The wire cluster that was in the way of the corner that was to be cut had to be moved from here

Once they were moved the hole could be marked and the first cut was made, no going back now....

    Where's the good stuff?

Joe Dirt: So you're gonna tell me that you don't have no black cats, no Roman Candles, or screaming mimis?
    Kicking Wing: No.
Joe Dirt: Oh come on, man. You got no lady fingers, fuzz buttles, snicker bombs, church burners, finger blasters, gut busters, zippity do das, or crap flappers?
    Kicking Wing: No, I don't.
Joe Dirt: You're gonna stand there, ownin' a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistlin' bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistlin' kitty chaser?
Kicking Wing: No... because snakes and sparklers are the only ones I like.
Joe Dirt: Well that might be your problem, it's not what you like, it's the consumer.

Looks great so far! I have always wanted to chop one up like that to see how good I could make it sound if there were no limitations.
