Balance/Fade are just poor mans adjustment for level matching.
However you do it, just make sure all your speakers are playing at the same volume relevant to the listeners position.

since very few amps have independent L/R level adjustment then it works to use the balance if you don't' have DSP that does it.
Mine is actually one click left in a LHD car... take that inverse square law!
Then again, I like my center image in front of me not int he middle of the car... my car, I'm driving it.... same reason I dont' sit right in front of one speaker(s) when mixing an album or band.
An image in the middle of the dash is like me buying tickets to my own concert and sitting off to the side.
I'll wait to finished tuning when I have my amp and potentiality a processor. Thanks for all the help guys, seriously it helped alot.
yup
But as opposed to going for a pinpoint image.. historically, I go for "fucking huge" first. Easier to paint on a bigger canvas.
And I follow that trait with all audio, not just car audio.
I'm glad this thread exists. It's helped give me some idea on where to start when I start tuning my active set-up.
