    Re: Truthunter's 2015 Toyota Camry XLE V6

Finally got the passenger door back together this past weekend. What was that.... like 3 months

It's nice and solid now though... really has some heft to it and closes with a dead thud.

I will have to replace the panel trim clips though as I think they wore out from so many test fits. Found the best price on https://www.clipsandfasteners.com/To...0_p/a21795.htm. Only ~$15 shipped for bag of 25 clips... enough for 2.5 doors worth.

    Few more photos

Sail panel fit too loosely for my tastes and figured it may be a rattle generator. So I lined it with some leftover 5lb weight carpet padding to decouple.

Removed the window seal from the top of the trim panel. This allowed for much easier door panel installation. While at it I decided to add some CCF to the clips that hold it on the door panel to firm it up and prevent possible rattles.

CLD to the flimsey parts of the door trim panel:

    CCF decoupled the map/cupholder pocket:

Used scrap pieces of CCF and some OCF on any surface on the back of the trim panel that came in contact with the MLV barrier. Also put a block of carpet padding in the rear to reinforce the thin plastic section (previously where the foam spacer block resided).

CCF wrapped the open/lock cables to decouple & prevent them from smacking around in there

Lots of rainy days recently provided some quality time in the garage to tackle the driver's door.

    Stripped down

    Deadened and wires pulled

Partially ran wires for mid & tweet and terminated / mounted midbass

    It's tiiiight but no interference

    Holes sealed and covered

CCF/MLV went in a lot faster and came out a lot neater in this door

My end goal for this project has evolved a bit.

Originally my end goal was just using EQ/TA/XO of the head unit and amp. Run the morel passive xover between the tweet/mid and actively cross the rest. Just use a 5ch with BP capability: Tweet/Mid off front channels, Midbass on rears, and Subs on ch 5. No DSP.

New end goal: Add discrete DSP, active xovers, and see how the ZR800s perform without dedicated subs & eventually play around with rear fill.

As such, I sold the PG Ti2 1600.5 and will be using an ARC 4150xxk initially in a passive/active config. Once it up and running I can determine if the ZR800s fulfill my bottom end requirements. From there add the DSP and replace the amp with a single 6ch.

Initially, I'm liking the capabilities/cost of the JL TWK-88 so I'll be looking for one of those soon unless I get swayed otherwise.

    Need to update this log.

    Driver's door trim treatment

decoupled possible rattle generation areas with CCF

Foam bits to decouple trim from MLV

Saw someone mention this & thought it was a good idea... used tesa tape on door clip mounting area... really locked them down. Need to update the other door like this

Fab'd up a simple z-bend bracket for the inline fuse. Need to paint it black.

Passenger side firewall was the easiest way to get power through. Covered in factory matching loom.

Nice work!! With all that work, if those doors rattle, they were always meant to. hehe

This sealing.. What is that you used? Looks like aluminum sheet? I picked up some but hadn't gotten that far on my doors but wanted to attempt to seal up a big hole behind the CCF/MLV layer.

    You're on! Can't wait!
By the way thought I saw Erin had or shared a Twk88 FS on DIYMA. Might be here also. FYI. I'm personally a Helix fan myself but the JL's look very capable as well.
