Thread: Share your photography!

    Re: Share your photography!

So, I was chillin on the back deck in the sunshine....a small potted plant was blooming and drawing the butterflies....since I've gotten my new primes, my zoom hasn't got much love, but today I attached it and took it outside. I'm glad I did, as I caught something cool.....

My porch partner enjoying the sun, and sniffing the breeze...

    Butterflies....

    Pause between visitors, lol....

Need motion practice? These guys are fun to chase around in frame.......

Then I noticed several of these guys hanging around the yard.....

Then this happened, not sure if it was fighting or flirting, but they went at it for a few minutes. This is why I was glad I had the zoom attached, they were a good distance away. Pics aren't as good as I had hoped they'd be, but you can see what's going on regardless!

I hadn't used it in a while....and yes, the primes are sharper....but overall the zoom is still pretty damn good. No way would I have even been able to share the mocking bird fight with a prime, lol. Considering all the shots above are serious crops, the old zoom ain't doing half bad!

    Re: Share your photography!

Had a family outing to a local mountain state park last weekend...my daughter and I naturally took the cameras and shot all day! Wound up taking a trail up the backside of the mountain, a way we hadn't been before, and had a big time. I will say how much different a three mile hike seems in the rugged mountains......sheesh, we were all pooped... (doggies included, lol)......

We were thrilled to find the last 1/4 mile of the trip up looked like this! Gave the legs time to stop burning, and time for some sweat to dry....

    The destination.....

    The final approach.....

    Aaaaannd, whoa....the payoff...
